About the maker

Maxim Min
My girlfriend and I would love to have a daughter. She isn't here yet, but we already think about how she can grow up safely. What do you teach a four-year-old? When do you start? And how do you do it without scaring her?
So I made Noor Says No: the book we want to read to her one day. With situations a child recognizes, and one question each time: what would you do? I hope it helps other parents now.
Why this site exists
Because children can practice saying no and telling, long before they need to. A few facts, all with a source:
- About 90% of child sexual abuse in the US is by someone known and trusted by the child or the child's family. (CDC)
- Many children wait to report child sexual abuse, or never do. (CDC)
- NCMEC's CyberTipline received more than 186,800 reports of online enticement in 2023, up more than 300% from 2021. Those numbers cover all minors, not only young children. (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children)
Good organizations help when something has happened. This site is about what comes before. No book can promise that a child will be safe, and this one does not.
How was this made?
- The illustrations were made with the help of AI, then chosen and edited.
- Every answer on this site links its sources and says when they were read.
- The book has not been reviewed by an educator or child-safety expert, and there are no reviews of the English edition yet.
What this book isn't
It doesn't replace professional help, and it can't promise that a child will be safe. Read the disclaimer. Found a mistake? Let us know.
