Books about saying no and body safety, compared

Checked on November 1, 2026. Not a ranking: the books are in alphabetical order.

Below are seven English-language books about saying no and body boundaries, side by side, with pages, age and price where we could read it. Which one fits depends on your child's age and what you want to talk about. Noor Says No is the book from this site, and its row also says what speaks against it.

Which books about saying no are there?

We have not read the other books. What we say about each comes from the store or publisher listing, linked in each row. Ages on Amazon come from customers, not from an expert.

Which book fits which age?

Mostly that depends on how old your child is now. These ages are from the sources. Your child may be ready earlier or later.

  • Under 4: Yes! No! (2 to 5), It's My Body (2 to 6), and Pantosaurus (from about 3).
  • From 3 or 4: My Body! What I Say Goes! (3 to 6), Let's Talk About Body Boundaries (4 to 7), Body Boundaries Make Me Stronger (4 to 6), and I Said No (4 to 7).
  • 4 to 7, with situations to discuss: Noor Says No.

What speaks against Noor Says No?

Three things, and they count if you want certainty. The book came out in late 2026, so little is known about it.

  • Illustrations made with the help of AI.
  • Not reviewed. No educator or child-safety expert has reviewed the book. It follows public advice, but the organizations behind that advice are not involved.
  • No reviews yet. There are no customer reviews of the English edition. It was translated from a Dutch book that came out in 2026.

When should you choose another book?

  • Your child is under 4. Yes! No! and It's My Body are listed for younger children.
  • You are in the UK and know the NSPCC's PANTS rule. Pantosaurus is the NSPCC's own picture book.
  • You want something short. Yes! No! is a board book of 38 pages.
  • You want a book with a longer track record. Several of these have been out for years.

When does Noor Says No fit?

When you want to practice situations your child recognizes. On the left is a situation with the question: what would you do? Your child answers first. Then you turn the page and read what Noor does.

There are 25 situations: 11 about people Noor knows, 6 about screens. Whether this works better than another book has not been studied. See what's in the book, or read about it as a gift for a 5-year-old.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a ranking?

No. The books are in alphabetical order and there is no winner. We only know the other books from their descriptions, so a verdict would not be fair.

Does this site earn money from the other books?

No. The links to other books are plain links, with no commission. The maker does earn money from Noor Says No.

Why are most prices missing?

Amazon did not show prices when we checked on November 1, 2026. We only list a price we could read ourselves. Check the store before you buy.

Is a book missing?

Probably: this isn't a complete list. Email us the title. If we can check the details, we'll add it.
