Free Robux: how can your child spot the scam?

Sources reviewed on November 1, 2026. Based on public advice, see below.

Teach one sentence: free Robux don't exist. Roblox says there are no sanctioned offers of free Robux, and that a website or user promising them may be after your personal information. The same goes for free Premium memberships and codes. Your child's rule is simple: never type a password, and show a grown-up.

Why do these offers work on kids?

Because children want the thing and trust what is on the screen. Young kids also can't tell an ad from a game. So don't count on your child spotting it. Teach one action: stop, and show a grown-up.

What does a scam look like?

Roblox's red flags include any offer of free Robux, and offers of free Premium memberships, tricks or codes. Some examples of what your child may see:

  • A website that promises Robux for your username and password.
  • A player in a game who says: "Go to this site and get free coins."
  • A video that tells you to download something.

What rule does your child need?

Passwords stay at home. Roblox's advice is to avoid and report these offers. For young children, you keep the password, so they can't type it in anywhere. Say it like this: "Your password is just for you and for us. Even when someone promises you something free."

What if your child already clicked or typed something?

  1. Stay calm and say you're glad they told you.
  2. Change the password, and use a different one for email.
  3. Report the user or site to Roblox.
  4. Check your payment details in the account, and contact Roblox support if something was bought.

These steps are our own summary. See also if Roblox is safe and how to set up parental controls.

Frequently asked questions

Are real Robux codes ever free?

Roblox says there are no sanctioned offerings of free Robux. Treat any such offer as a scam, even if a friend or a video recommends it.

Should I punish my child for clicking?

No. If your child gets in trouble for showing you, they may not show you next time. Fix the account, and praise the telling.
